In these photos, I felt I was trying to convey how one location can have so many different details, but when you step back and look at the big picture, everything seems as if it's meant to be there, complementing each other. The photos were taken at the Botanical Gardens, where most of the scenery is inside the area. Although, I only drove to the front of the area, where I saw there was natural surroundings already there. Both photos, Scenery Admist and Along The Swamps, captures the lake and every detail around it. Some trial was getting the right angle of the lake and sky, to balance out the blue.
I took these photos at Cedar Bend Park in Ann Arbor. In these images, I wanted to highlight the reflection and movement of the water against the trees. The first photo, Trees In Water, was edited to darken the trees and put more emphasis on the contrast of the water. The second photo, Logs On Logs, was taken at an angle lower to the ground, to make the entire log visible, as well as the water in the background. Some trial I experienced when taking these images was making sure the sun didn't wash out the background. Although, I thought I did well with the contrast of the branches against everything else. Both pictures convey how still water can make everything around you seem peaceful and calm.
These images were taken at Gallup Park during the afternoon. The first photo, Midnight Lake, was originally not as dark. Though, once I matched the color with an oil painting, it became a darker blue. The distant lake in the background was such an intense blue that I felt it contrasted well with the foreground of the flower. The second photo, Fields Again, was a small field of grass that was taken against trees in front of a blue sky. Some trial I experienced was getting the correct focus on the picture. Yet, I thought I balanced the lighter scenery and darker trees well. Both images convey a distinct focus in the background: the water on the left and the sky on the right. Both hues of blue complemented the rest of the image's colors.
These photos were taken at the beginning of Island Park. Both images convey a path being taken, through the movement of the water. The photo on the left, Rounded Right, shows a clear path of the river, outlined by the trees. The photo on the right, River Water, emphasizes the color of the water and grass that includes brown, green and yellow hues. Some trial I experienced was getting the right angle of the picture, but I felt I did well with getting focus on river.
These images were taken at Marshall Park. The first photo is called Autumn Grounds because the leaves present an orange hue. The second photo, Cotton Wisps, emphasizes the foreground against the leaves and sky. Both images convey a hopeful message of nicer weather. Some trial I experienced was capturing the right light without large shadows. Although, I thought I did well focusing on the right and blending the colors on the left.
