Through The Eyes
|
This double exposure image is combining two images I took. The first one is my selfie and the second one is Lake Michigan in front of clouds. I made sure to reposition the clouds just over my eyes, but still made it still visible by adjusting the opacity by half. I also considered different shades of blues and grays for the background, until I got a color that complimented the best with the photo.
Both images show a picture of me, combined with at least one layer of another image. The 5 Layer Selfie is different because it brings two landscape and one object together. Whereas, the Double Exposure just has one landscape photo. I've grown as a photographer in many ways. One way is that I've learned to have balance in my photos. The second image shows a greater balance between the clouds and the ripples in the water. I've learned more effects that are possible to make an image better than it was before. Such as, if a certain layer is too dominant, you have to readjust with the settings in photoshop until that layer blends well into the others. My second photo has improved from the first because I now have a better understanding of how to use PS. |
A Glance
The overall message conveyed through this image is a description of me through pictures of things that represent me. The first layer represents where I live; it is a picture of the trees in my backyard. The second layer is my selfie, followed by the third layer which includes a picture taken in Lake Tahoe. It was captured on a boat, near the northern part of the lake. It also includes the background of the snowy mountains. This represents me because we go to California every summer to visit family and it is an important part of me. The final layer is a picture of a used soccer ball in my yard. This represents the 9+ years I have played soccer and loved it. I couldn't imagine my life without it. I used this layer to act as a sun to make it look like it is reflecting light off the water. I made sure to make these photos relevant within nature. The trees hang over the lake, while the soccer ball acts as a part of this image. I also made sure to adjust the opacity within each layer to ensure you could see each picture, while blending into the image as a whole. The overll message is that I have various sides to me, but they all relate in some way.
